Janice Liedtke Autry, 76, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born on February 16, 1950, in Gary, Indiana.
Janice will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and deep devotion to her family and friends.
A 1968 graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Janice was named Homecoming Queen during her senior year and contributed to the school newspaper. She later attended evening classes at Purdue Calumet in Hammond, Indiana.
Janice enjoyed a dedicated career at St. Margaret’s Hospital, where she served as Human Resources Manager before her retirement.
She was an avid reader with a special love for mystery novels and the works of Stephen King.
Throughout her life, Janice exemplified care, perseverance, and a lasting commitment to those she loved. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her son, Joel Autry; her daughter, Brooke Autry Lynn; her grandchildren, Austin Lynn, Haleigh Lynn, and Ashleigh Lynn; her brother, Robert (Gayla) Liedtke; and her sister, Amy (Andy) Magana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mel and Anne Liedtke, and her brother, Gary (Jane) Liedtke.
Funeral and Memorial Information
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN 46322. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Robert Liedtke.
Janice’s life will be honored with gratitude and remembrance. The family extends heartfelt thanks for the care, support, and kindness shown during this time.
