Janice Behn Brokke

Jan Behn Brokke of Schererville, IN passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the loving company of her daughters.

She is survived by her husband Steve, beautiful daughters Melanie and Emily, brother Bill Behn, nephew Andy and niece Heather.

Jan will be sorely missed by the "Brokke Flocky", a group of friends in the fellowship along with numerous other family members, friends and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Behn and Mary Prahovich.

Jan was born in Chicago, IL on March 26, 1956  and is a proud Thornwood Thunderbird graduate of the class of 1973.

Jan found love and an already made family when she met Steve and his girls in 1999.They said "I do" in 2002 and enjoyed 20 plus years of marriage. Jan retired in 2018 as a buyer for Majestic Star Casino. 

 She enjoyed antiques, craft fairs, Cubs baseball, food network, walks on the beach and wine.

She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin and aunt. As a deeply devoted wife, mother and friend, she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 17, 2025 from 2-6pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd. (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
