Janice (Eriks) Van Deel

Janice Van Deel (nee Eriks), age 65, peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Janice was a loving wife, caring mother of three, and grandmother of five. She was a member of Faith Church Highland, and had been involved with a number of groups there.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary Van Deel; Children: Jason (Daniel) Seyller-Van Deel, Rachel (Matt) Evers; Gary (Daniel) Montemayor; Grandchildren: Caden, Lucas, Cody, Evelyn, and Ethan; Sister: Carol (Randy) Bowman; Brother: Jim (Pat) Eriks; Sister-in-Law: Donna(Connie) Kats; Brother-in-Law: John Van Deel, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Evelyn Eriks; In-Laws Henry and Sally Van Deel; Sister-in-Law Debbie Van Deel.

Janice was born on February 10, 1959 in Hammond, IN. She was a graduate of Illiana Christian High School, and received an Associate’s Degree from Purdue University. Fifty years ago, she met the love of her life, Gary Van Deel, and they were married on September 16, 1977. They decided to settle in Munster, IN to raise a family, and spent 47 years happily married to each other.

Visitation for Janice will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN, 46322.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Faith Church Highland, 8910 Grace St. Highland, IN, 46322.

Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery in Highland, IN.
