Jean L (Radloff) Mickow

Jean Linda (Radloff) Mickow of Highland, Indiana, age 79, passed away on Sunday June 29, 2025. She is survived by her son, Larry Mickow, Jr. as well as her daughter Kelly Mickow-Wall (Brian). Grandchildren Zack and LJ Wall.  Sisters, Nancy (Jim) Krezel and Marjorie (late Ron) Vincent along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruth Radloff, her Uncles Paul and Herbert Radloff and Aunt Hertha Isham (Radloff). 

Jean was born on July 31,1945 in Hammond, IN. She was a graduate of Hammond High School class of 1963.  She went on to be a secretary for Purdue University Northwest, St. Margaret Hospital, both of Hammond, IN.  Legal secretary in Chicago for BP and K&L Gates until retirement in 2011. 

Jean always loved to travel, by herself or with family and the grandkids.  Having adventures was always something she looked forward to.  Favorite trips would include the island of Maui in Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Minnesota, Wyoming, and Death Valley, CA.  She also visited Canada and Mexico (for a few minutes but that is another story)

Jean was special - she was a sister, a friend, “mom and grandma” to so many people, not just the lucky ones that were related. Loving and accepting of all.

She was a long time resident of Highland but after this last illness, she was taken care of by the staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Calumet Area, at the William J. Riley Memorial Residence in Munster. The family thanks them for all their assistance and kindness in the short time she was there. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
