Jean Evelyn Morgan, 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2025 with loved ones by her side. She was born in Hammond, Indiana to parents Walter and Ruth Thompson on June 16, 1936. She graduated from Hammond High School and married Robert Morgan on July 9, 1955, who preceded her in death in 2017. Also preceding her in death were her parents and three year old sister, Shirley.
Jean is survived by her children Brenda (David Michalak), Lori (Mike Brown), Robert (Amy) and Tim (Mari), sister-in-Law, Sue (Ashley), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a loving wife and mother; a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, family vacations to Ludington Michigan, and later trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and other destinations. Jean was an accomplished artist and loved to weave, swim, and feed the birds and deer in her backyard. She was a founding member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church in Highland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 24, 2026, with visitation at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. The service and visitation will be at First Christian Church of Highland, 9540 Fifth Street, Highland, IN 46322
In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of the Calumet Area would be appreciated.
