Jean Olenik

Jean Olenik (nee Kujawski), 94 of Griffith, IN peacefully passed on May 23, 2019 surrounded by her family. Jean is survived by her children Edward (Joan (late)), Walter (Mariann), Michael (Mari Jo) and Robert (Rhonda).

She is also survived by ten grandchildren Jackie (John), Wendy (William), Christian, Erin, Morgan (Antonia), Leah (Andrew), Rebekah (Michael), Michael (Nicole), Amber (George) and Ashely (Tony). Thirteen great-grandchildren Travis, Trevor (Stacey), Brandi, Cheryl, Kasey, Zachary, Ava, Benjamin, Nicholas, Matthew, Emily, Abigail, and Henry. Six great-great-grandchildren Holli, Desmond, Gabriel, Ty Michael, Zane, and Zayden. Also many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Proceeded in death by parents Mary, Stanley and Anthony (step-father), husband Edward, Sisters Irene, Helen, and Mary, brother Anthony, and grandchildren Amanda and Joshua.

Jean was a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, godmother and more to so many. Jean’s legacy is her generous heart.She touched so many lives and was loved by all.

Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church 8103 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN at 1 p.m. followed by a burial service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.
