Jeanne Alice (Sandstrom) Kaluf was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 28th, 1928. On October 26th, 2020, Jeanne went to heaven while grandson Mark and son Jeff lovingly held her hand. Jeanne graduated Hammond High school at the age of 16 in 1945. She attended Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio. At the conclusion of WWII, Jeanne married the only man she ever dated, John (Jack) D. Kaluf. They met at the age of 15 and married at the age of 20 in 1948. They raised three children in Munster, Indiana, and after 15 years, moved to their forever home in Saint John, Indiana. Together, Jack and Jeanne started Kaluf Drywall, which is still thriving today. They attended First Baptist Church in their early marriage and met their lifelong friends in the Challengers class, the Gomezs, Catheys, Monetts, Beanblossoms, Mosers, Wilkensons, Penleys, Franczeks, Wilsons, Wolbers, and Girmans. Jeanne was a lifelong homemaker, mother, and grandmother- which were the three jobs she loved the most. She was also an avid reader and prayer warrior.
Jeanne is survived by David (Valerie) Kaluf, Jeffery (Kimberly) Kaluf, Robert D. Souer, and Cynthia L. Kaluf; her grandchildren, Mark, Bryan (Ashlee), Eric (Michele), Jenna (Matthew), Zachary, Ryan, and Karen Souer; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nicholas, Coraline, and Brooklyn, as well as three nieces and three nephews.
