Jeffrey Scott Kohn

Jeffrey Scott Kohn, age 65, of Schererville, Indiana, passed peacefully into God's glory on May 1, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne M. Kohn. Children: Daniel Kohn (Elanee). Children by marriage: Sarah L. Kahn (Josh), Jonathan D. Perigo. Grandchildren: Zoey, Isla, Elijah. Grandchildren by marriage: Hanna, Jacob, Madelyn, Isabelle, Emily. Great-aunt Dorothy Scmidt, numerous nieces and nephews by marriage, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Charlotte (née Schmidt) Kohn (Carpenter).

Jeffrey was born August 8, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Chicago Illinois High School graduate. He was employed, and served 22 years on the Riverdale, Illinois Fire Department as an engineer. Following, Jeffrey received a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University NW, and was formerly employed by Panduit Corporation, and Schnider Engineering.

Jeff was an active and proud member for the past ten years of the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, Indiana with Pastor Mark Wilkins as Senior Pastor. Jeffrey was a flag bearer in several 9/11 ceremonies, held at the church.

He was an active member of the East Coast Reflectors Ham Radio Group of Florida. Jeff loved building projects, and was a previous partner of a Schererville, Indiana construction company of new homes, and subdivisions builder.

Jeffrey was loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral services directly following at 11:00 am at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, In, 46322.

Interment will be held privately at a later date at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.

Services are to be held by Pastor Mark Wilkins of the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, Indiana.
