Jessica "Jessi" Lynn Kollwitz Obituary

Jessica “Jessi” Lynn Kollwitz, age 37, of Highland, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2025.

Born on October 22, 1987, Jessi was a proud graduate of Highland High School and a lifelong member of the Highland community. With a natural talent and passion for cosmetology, she worked as a hair stylist at Sport Clips and Great Clips, where she was cherished by clients for her warm heart, gentle touch, and remarkable ability to make people feel beautiful inside and out.

Jessi was the devoted mother of three beloved sons—Jacob Alumbaugh, Lucas Kollwitz, and Noah Kollwitz—who were the center of her world. She poured her heart into raising them, guiding them with patience, fierce love, and a steady hand. Whether she was cheering them on from the sidelines, helping with schoolwork, or simply making them laugh with her goofy sense of humor, Jessi was always present—offering encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love. She was their safe place, their biggest fan, and their strongest protector. Her strength taught them resilience, her humor brought light into their lives, and her spirit—kind, bold, and full of love—will continue to live on in their hearts, shaping the men they will become. Her love was constant, and her joy in being their mom was evident to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sons Jacob, Lucas and Noah; her father, Bryan Kollwitz (Ronette); her brothers, Scott Kollwitz, James Kollwitz, and Thomas Kollwitz; her aunts, Sheri (Paul) Graegin and Angie Parker; and her uncles, Robert and Ron Parker; great aunt Donna Jean Nevroske; and her cousins, Matt (Raymon), Nathaniel, and Quinn Graegin.

Jessi was preceded in death by her mother, Leslie Boersma; her grandparents, Carol and Louis Kollwitz, Paul (JoEllen) Parker, and Kathy (Gary) Hamill.

Jessi’s zest for life was evident in the things she loved. She had a deep fondness for pigs and loved collecting pig-themed treasures. She enjoyed riding her bike along the trails, playing softball, relaxing at the beach, and was an avid Jeep enthusiast. A loyal Chicago White Sox fan, Jessi could often be found cheering on her team with enthusiasm. Her friendly nature, infectious laugh, and easygoing personality made her a joy to be around and a friend to many.

A wake in Jessi’s honor will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, Indiana 46322. Please meet at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307 at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 for burial.

Jessi will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the love and light she shared will never be forgotten.
