Jesus "Chavalo" Salvador Vargas Martinez, 75, of Crown Point, IN, passed away October 3, 2018. He is survived by: loving wife Rubia, beloved step-children Homero (Adriana) Martinez, Jesus Martinez, Rene Martinez, Mayra (Tomi) Martinez, eleven step-grandchildren, one great step-granchild and three siblings. Jesus was preceded in death by parents and two brothers.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322, Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 3-7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Monday, October 15, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3510 Deodar St. East Chicago, IN, 46312.

Jesus was very active in the Local 1010 USW, he retired in 2000 from Arcelor Mittal after 36 years of service and was an avid sports fan.
