Jimmie E. (Jim) Hedrick

Jimmie E. (Jim) Hedrick, 65, of Griffith passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

He is survived by: loving fiancée Kelley Hugus, children Jimmie Joe Hedrick, Justin (Molly Keenan), Jeremy Hedrick and Jacob (Ashley McGarr) Boender, grandchildren Kylah, Lennon, Jeremiah (JJ), Gavi and Chanelle Hedrick; sisters Maureen Scheeringa and Jolene Hedrick, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Jimmie J and Kyla Hedrick; brother in law Donald W. Scheeringa, grandparents Andrew and Helen Hedrick and Robert and Elizabeth Schell.

Jim was the proud former owner of After Afx Detailing and currently was employed at Dutch American Foods in Beecher, IL. Jim was an avid dart player and traveled to numerous states for tournaments. Known as the Legendary Big Jim in the dart community, he mentored many players. He spent a lot of his youth in London, KY on the Bentley Family Farm, where he enjoyed working with his Uncle Jack. As his children were growing up, Jim was very involved with their sports and coaching soccer. He always enjoyed racing and he enjoyed attending Nascar races with his sons. Jim never met a stranger and was loved by many. In all he did he was a true gentleman, kind and well respected. Jim will be greatly missed by his fiancée, family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Hillside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN 46322 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
