Joan Marie Sullivan (Wilson), 67, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.
Born on May 12, 1958, in Harvey, Illinois, Joan was the beloved daughter of Eugene Howard Wilson and Mary Josephine Wilson. She grew up in Dolton, Illinois, and graduated from Thornridge High School. She eventually settled in Highland, Indiana.
Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort, strength, and warmth to those who knew her. She was especially blessed with a lifelong love and best friend in Patrick Tedeschi, who stood by her side through life’s many seasons.
As the years passed, she found simple joy in feeding the birds and squirrels, especially the cardinals she loved so much, collecting cardinal figurines, and spending time with the people she loved most.
Her grandchildren were especially dear to her, and she loved each of them deeply and wholeheartedly. She was also joyfully awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, already embracing the role of great-grandmother-to-be with love and excitement.
She will be deeply missed by Patrick Tedeschi; her children, Patrick Sullivan Jr., Jamie Sullivan, and Jessica Sullivan; her children through love, Cara Tedeschi and Colleen Fromme; her brother, John Wilson (Paula); her sister, Brandee Wilson; and her grandchildren, Noah, Cailee, Aiden, Shaun, Makayla, Alianna, Brooklynn, Cameron, Justice, Maddie, Logan, Jayden, Trent, and Kai, all of whom she loved dearly, along with many extended family members and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Howard Wilson and Mary Josephine Wilson; her siblings, Michael Wilson, Jeanne Fetters (Wilson), Charles Wilson, Kenneth Wilson Sr., and Keith Wilson; and her grandson, Jason.
Joan will be remembered for her loving heart, her quiet strength, and the deep love she had for her family. She gave her love freely and fully, and that love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she is no longer here, the warmth she brought into the world will never fade.
