In Loving Memory of Joanne Elaine Jackson
Our beloved Joanne 'JoJo' Jackson, born April 1, 1963 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. It’s hard to put into words what she meant to us.
She is survived by mother, Yvonne (nee Kerstell) Jackson; sisters, Beatrice Parks and Patricia Castillo; dear friend, Daryl Smith, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joanne is preceded in death by father, Larry Jackson; sisters, Donna Jansen and Beverly Sajdyk and brother, Richard Jackson.

Joanne’s artistic legacy and loving heart will live on through the many lives she touched.

Jojo was employed by the School City of Hammond as a dedicated cafeteria worker for 20 years. She took pride in her work and found great happiness in serving and connecting with the children each day.
Joanne had a beautiful soul and a creative heart. She loved to draw, paint, and craft, and she could turn the simplest thing into something special. Whether it was a handmade gift, a doodle that made us smile, or a thoughtful card she took the time to make, Joanne always found beauty in the details and joy in creating something by hand.

We will miss her every day — her laughter, her creativity, and her big, caring heart. But we’ll hold onto the memories of all the moments she made special, and the love she left behind in each of us.

A Celebration of Joanne’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Hope United Methodist Church located at 7320 Northcote Ave, Hammond, IN from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where family and friends can come together to share stories and honor her memory.

Joanne, you filled our lives with color, kindness, and love — and though you are no longer with us, your light will shine in our hearts forever.
