Joanne Sapp

Joanne Sapp (née Richter), age 93 of Munster, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026 following an illness.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffery (Marti née O'Bryan) Sapp; Brian (Karen née Kopin) Sapp; and Daniel (Mary Ann née DeBarge) Sapp; her daughter, Vicki Sapp (Steve Brining); her sister, Judy Richter (partner Anne Terrell), grandchildren, Linda (née Sapp) Bowman (Matthew), Megan, and Collin; and her great-grandchildren, Robert and Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Sapp; her son, Steven C. Sapp; her grandson, Steven D. Sapp; her brother, William Richter; and her parents, Alice and Forrest Richter.
Born and raised in Hammond, Joanne graduated from Clark High School and built a career doing what she loved most—bringing beauty into people's lives through flowers. She worked for many years as a floral designer at Lamprecht's
Florist in Highland, where her creativity, talent, and warm personality earned her the admiration of customers and coworkers alike.
Joanne lived in Highland, Indiana, for 66 years before moving to Hartsfield Village in Munster, Indiana, where she created a wonderful community of cherished friends. She was devoted to her family and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 beginning at 4:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 6:30pm with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322.

Joanne will be laid to rest privately by the family at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne's memory to the William J. Riley Memorial Residence - Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue, Munster, IN 46321. This facility was a blessing, taking amazing
care of our mom.
