John Singel

John Singel, age 90, of Highland, Indiana passed away peacefully at home Monday May 2, 2022.  He is survived by his son John (Diane) Singel of St. John, two grandsons John (Sarah) Singel of Lowell, and Joshua (Megan) Singel of Lowell and two great grandchildren Claire and John Luke Singel.  John is preceded in death by his loving wife Dolores of 48 years, parents John and Mary Singel and sister Irene Harney (Singel).

He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  John graduated from Hammond Technical High School.  He went on for his machinist apprenticeship at Inland Steel.  He retired as a Tool and Die Maker from Anderson (ANCO) Company.  As a young man, John built hot rods and boats.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.  He loved his grandsons and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with them and liked watching them play school sports.  He also loved the visits from his grand doggies.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 3025 Highway Ave, Highland, IN, 46322 with Rev. Brian Chadwick officiating.  Visitation will precede the mass beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.  Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.
