Joseph Michael Trombetta passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021, at the age of 93 years old. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1927. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Regina (Johnson) Trombetta, son David Trombetta, sister in law Linda Trombetta, grandsons Ronald Doyle and Jacob Trombetta, parents Michael and Claire Trombetta, brothers Michael and Vincent Trombetta, sister Mary Merryman. Lovingly remembered by brother Rudolph (Rosemary) Trombetta, daughter Clara Trombetta, son Michael Trombetta, daughter Nancy (Stephen) Sroka, son Joseph (Kathy) Trombetta, son Anthony (Terri) Trombetta, son Edward (Christy) Trombetta, daughter in law Kim Trombetta, son Douglas (Monique) Trombetta, son Vincent (Mary) Trombetta; grandchildren, Alex Pantazonis, Tommy (Karen) Sroka, Michelle Trombetta, Nicole Sroka, Jennifer (Michael) Walsh, Stephen Sroka, Michael (Cherish) Doyle, Jeremy (Emi) Doyle, Monae Adams, Micayla Coquia, Hunter Trombetta, Tyler Trombetta, Joseph Trombetta, Caden Trombetta, Gina Trombetta, Ashlynn Trombetta, and Madisen Trombetta; great-grandchildren Lucy & Drew Sroka, Tyler Serrano, Elizabeth & Lauren Walsh, Parker Doyle, Jacob & Hailee Doyle.
Joe “Duke” was a legend in the bowling community, a father, a grandfather and best friend to many. He spent endless hours in the bowling allies whether he was practicing, competing, coaching or spectating. He was honored by being a member of the Indiana State Hall of Fame, Illinois State Hall of Fame, Greater Calumet USBC Hall of Fame, Northwest Indiana USBC Hall of Fame and Chicagoland USBC Hall of Fame. He holds 2 ABC Eagle Titles and numerous other bowling awards.
Joe was an U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Bricklayers Union (since 1950) and a member of the Terrace Park Church of God.
Visitation will be Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322,from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral will be at the funeral home Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 9:30 am. Burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
