Josephine "Jo" La Vine

Josephine “Jo” La Vine, age 86, of Highland, IN, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. She is survived by her sons Chris (Christy), Matt; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Cantilena, Mark (Sammy), and Ben; great-grandchild, Addison. Proceeding her in death her beloved husband, Glen “Bud”, son, Michael “Mike”; parents Louis and Julia DeRosa. 

Jo was a proud graduate of Albion College and taught in Angola, Munster, and Merrillville, IN. She married Bud La Vine in December of 1956. Shortly thereafter they moved to the Calumet Region to raise their 3 sons. She was a lifelong member of St. James parish in Highland. She enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She dedicated her life to her family, faith, and community. She will be missed. 

Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322 on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There will also be visitation at Weicth Funeral Home, 207 N. West St., Angola, IN 46703 on Saturday April 24, 2021.
