Joshua Orange Obituary

Joshua Grant Orange, age 26, of Highland ,IN passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his parents Jeff and Rebecca of Highland; his brother Jeremy of Highland ; his sister Jenna of Pensacola, FL; maternal grandmother Janice (Akin) Harris of Winfield; Aunt Kristie (Ben) Jones of Indianapolis, Aunt Tina Orange of Hammond, and cousins Grant and Makenna Jones of Indianapolis. Preceding him in death was his paternal grandparents, Tom and Kathy Orange; maternal grandfather Grant Akin; and grandfather David Harris.

Josh’s life started in Griffith before moving to Highland before starting the 4th grade. He grew up with the love for skateboarding and being outdoors. Nothing compared to his love for music. Josh was a very skillful and talented guitar player. He enjoyed playing with friends and his younger brother. He especially enjoyed creating his own metal music for his band Icilowan. Josh was known for his lightning fast fingers playing guitar, his versatile tremolo picking, and his dark ominous tones he produced through a wide variety of pedal effects. He had the ability to play any music he heard, which was astounding, even at a very young age.  He was mastering a craft it takes some a lifetime to achieve.  Josh worked as a prep chef at various places including the Ameristar Casino. However, his most recent and absolute favorite job was working at Three Floyds Brewery. He loved the atmosphere and the genuine friendships he   established during his time there. Three Floyds had become his second home.

Josh loved hanging out with his closest friends. They spent most of their time sitting in the backyard having insightful conversations all night or in the basement playing the guitar. He was the most kind- hearted, wise soul you could ever meet. He would do anything for any of his friends who were in need. He was a loving brother and son. His smile, compassion, caring nature, and ability to lighten up a room in the darkest times will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland Indiana on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Esta Rosario.
