We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center
Joyce Waddle, 78, of Griffith, passed away on June 15, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late James and Sally Rogers, Sept. 3, 1943, in Kentucky. Joyce graduated from Whiting High School in 1961.
She married the late Donald Waddle on April 23, 1966, and together they built their family in Griffith. Joyce is survived by her three children: Sherri (Greg) Rainford of Morocco; Cindy Willis (John Sabovcik) of Griffith; and Brian (Shelly) Waddle of Highland. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Courtney Rainford, Morgan Willis, Peyton Willis, Brooke Waddle, and Brayden Waddle.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2008, and her two sisters, Shelby and Doris.
Joyce loved her family, her friends, her wine and hanging out at the American Legion Post 66 in Griffith where she made her special Italian beef for bingo players and members for years. She worked at Highland Department Store, the Griffith High School cafeteria, and Bank of Highland.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Legacy at Avalon Springs for their love and care over the last 10 months, and Dunes Hospice for being there for the final months of her life. Her nurse, Sally, was by her side every step of the way.
At Joyce’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Her and Don would only ask that you have a drink in her honor.
