Juanita Marie "Nita" Allison

Juanita Marie “Nita” Allison, age 79, of New Chicago passed away Friday, February 14, 2020. Juanita was the second of five siblings, she graced her parents John and Violet Tenorio with her birth on September 2, 1940 in Gary, Indiana. She is remembered as a dedicated matriarch, beloved mother, treasured grandmother, blessed sister, and cherished companion. Juanita was admired for her tenacity and strength within her family, and for her humor that she shared with those closest to her. She valued her time with friends at the American Legion Post 454 -New Chicago, and co-workers at Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Company from whence she retired after a steadfast career that spanned many years. Nita always had room in her home for those in need, and freely opened her heart without judgement. For her kindness, unwavering support, and special ways, she will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Lou Tenorio. Surviving are children Rhonda (Kevin) Curtis, Karen (Lee) Jones, Joseph Allison, Kenneth Allison, Jodi Allison, grandchildren Michaleen (Marissa) Jones, Krystle Allison, Tony Allison, Nikolas Allison, Jakob Allison, Daniel Stevens, Piper Neyhart, Max Neyhart, Linkin Allison, Brandon McGregor, Jersey Allison, great grandchildren Adddison Oar, Jaxson Oar, siblings Robert Tenorio, Karen Szwedo, John Tenorio, and cherished life companion Richard Gregor.

Friends are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge road) Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a funeral service to be held at the funeral home Wednesday February 19, 2020 at 9:30 am. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
