Judith Rae Woodard

Judith (Judie) age 85 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 with her family by her side.

Judie was born on November 21, 1939 in New Castle, PA. She was born to her parents Mary Elizabeth and George Ritchie. She graduated from NE-CA High in 1957. She then married and moved to Youngstown, Ohio with her husband David Woodard and raised 6 kids, Lorri, Jamie, Traci, David, Eric, and Donald. Judie enjoyed spending time with her family in New Castle, PA,. It was set in stone, every Sunday morning, to go to church, then home to change our clothes and then off to New Castle. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, and playing poker with her friends, Carol Leonard, Margaret Mullen, Tootie George, and Janet Ciccone, just to mention a few. Her journey then took her to Griffith, Indiana and that is where she spent the rest of her days until her passing. Judie is survived by her children: Jamie (late Tim) Lichter, Traci (Milan) Djordjevic, David (Carol) Woodard, Eric (Cheryl) Woodard, and Donald (Jennifer) Woodard. Grandchildren: Danielle (Michael) Golumbeck, Jim (Angie) Paluch, Gerald Kurek, Trinity (Gregory) Sauber, Alexis Woodard, Tia Woodard, Aidan Woodard, Kiera Woodard, and Caden Woodard. Great-grandchildren: Ella and Brooks Golumbeck, April (AJ), Jackson, Sawyer, Scarlett, and Audrey Paluch, and Keyleigh and Oliver Sauber. Several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband David Woodard, her daughter Lorri Woodard, grandson Scotty Hall, son-in-law Tim Lichter, son-in-law Joseph Paluch, parents Mary Elizabeth and George Ritchie, sisters Laura Kane, Cleda Marchand, and Georgene Barrella.

Judie will be truly missed by her family and all the lives that she touched. RIP Mom we love you!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Jones officiating.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
