Katherine Kuypers

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine Kuypers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother & nurse, on July 2, 2025, at the age of 50. She passed away peacefully at home in Crown Point, IN, surrounded by loved ones. Katherine was born in Chicago, IL on July 21, 1974 to Gary & Chantal Palmer. Katherine is survived by; her loving husband Tony Kuypers, Children; Miranda (Joseph Moore) Stone & Sean Mott, Stepchildren; Lauren Kuypers, Brooklyn (Renier) Botha, Noah Kuypers, Grandchildren; Avery Mott, Hudson Botha & Blaire Botha, Father & Mother-in-law Adrian & Denise Kuypers, many loving sisters & brothers-in-law, Brother Christopher (Amy) Palmer & nephews; Julian (Kyla) Palmer, Justin Palmer & Joshua Palmer. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, Gary & Chantal Palmer, grandparents, Guy & Georgette Perier.

Katherine was a devoted Christian. She loved going to church & attending her small church group, their support meant a lot to her. Katherine was a volunteer for many community outreach programs, including Habitat for Humanity, Gary Harm Reduction & Overdose Lifeline. Katherine enjoyed traveling to new places, such as The Dominican Republic, Mexico, Florida, California, Michigan & many more. Katherine loved spending time with her granddaughter, Avery, every chance she got.

Katherine graduated from Calumet College of St. Joseph with a degree in Paralegal studies. Shortly after graduating, she felt a calling to go into the medical field. She graduated from the Registered Nurse Program from Indiana University in 2007 with her Bachelor’s Degree, she later pursued a Master’s of Nursing Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University & graduated in April of 2022. She was a caring nurse for 18 years, working mainly in the field of Hospice & Occupational Health.

Katherine will be missed dearly.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
