Kathleen Boender

Kathleen Louise Boender, age 93 of Gary, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.

She is survived by her husband, Cornelius (Jun) of 71 years; son Marty (Judy) Boender of Lowell; daughter, Cathie (Dan) Bennett of Highland; son, Jeff (Shelley) Boender of Gary; grandchildren, Chad (Lynn) Boender; Russell Boender; Kristen (Justin) Heisler; Kara (Christopher) Kelley; Jill (Ryan) Patrick; Matthew (Emily) Bennett; Nicole (Ryan) Jansma; Jacob Bennett (Bianca Koss); Cody (Carly) Boender; Joshua (Caitlin) Boender; Molly (Brian) Broertjes; AJ McCall;
14 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Leep of Highland.

Preceding her in death was her beloved young son, Donny Wayne who passed away at the age of four; brother Robert Porter and wife Eleanor; sister Loretta Botma and husband Henry; brother-in-law Anthony (Tony) Leep;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Gloria) Boender; Ruth (Pete) Faber.

Kathleen was born on August 31, 1929. She was a member of New Life Christian Reformed Church of Highland, Indiana. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Gary Methodist Hospital and later in life at the Hammond Clinic Munster, Indiana.

Visitation will be held at New Life Christian Reformed Church 3010 Ridge Road Highland, Indiana 46322 on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service following immediately at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Pastor Bill Sytsma officiating. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Highland, Indiana.
