Kathleen De Maar

Kathleen De Maar, 65, went to be with the Lord on July 19th, 2018 in Grand Blanc, MI after battling cancer. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322.  Funeral Service will be held Thursday July 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Faith Church-Highland, IN campus (8910 Grace Street, Highland, IN 46322).

Kathleen was born on August 18th, 1952 in Blue Island, Illinois to Clarence and Wilma (Dykstra) De Haan. She earned a teaching degree from Trinity Christian College and had a successful career as a teacher at Lansing Christian School. She married Larry De Maar on June 13th, 1979. They raised 3 children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carol De Haan. She is survived by her husband Larry De Maar, daughter Lora (Jon) Postma, son Michael (Nichole) De Maar, son Ben (Katelyn) De Maar, 5 grand children, sister Joyce (Allen) Patterson, nieces Anne, Faith, Jennifer, and nephew David Patterson.
