Kenneth VanTil

Kenneth VanTil, age 69, passed away peacefully and comfortably surrounded by family on Friday, June 13, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan VanTil; children, Angela (Eric) Bitell, John Artibey (Katelyn Schuster); grandchildren, Gracie and Easton Artibey; siblings, Gerald VanTil, Thomas (Renee) VanTil; Sister-in-law, Kathy VanTil (Peter Storozuk); nieces, Christin Radtke (James Varholdt), Brittany Crider; nephews, Matthew (Marissa) VanTil, Brian Van Til (Dominique Meilinger), Michael (Marissa) VanTil, and Jordan VanTil; MANY dear friends and canine pal, Joey.

Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Karilyn VanTil, and brother, Donald VanTil.

Ken was born on May 9, 1956 in Hammond, IN, and was a 1974 graduate of Illiana Christian. He was a life-long resident of Highland, IN. Ken went on to become an EMT, volunteer Fireman at Highland Fire Department for 25 years, then started his own successful real estate appraisal business, KVT, Inc. in 1992. Only July 1, 1996, he married the love of his life, Joan, and her two mildly remarkable children, and together they shared 36 years of wedded bliss.

Ken was a proud member of Briar Ridge Country Club since 2006. Ken was passionate about golf, grilling, Chicago sports teams, and his two wonderful grandchildren.

Ken was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many, and to say he will be missed is an absolute understatement.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN, 46322.
