Kevin Joseph Dodson, 50, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2025. Born on January 14, 1975, in Hammond, Indiana, Kevin lived a life marked by dedication to his family, hard work, and an unwavering kindness toward others.
A proud graduate of Gavit High School, Kevin excelled both academically and athletically. He was an All-Conference and championship-winning football and baseball player, demonstrating the same determination and teamwork that would define his later years. His commitment to excellence continued at Lincoln Tech, where he graduated at the top of his class.
Kevin built a successful career as a Maintenance Reliability Technician at Novaspect. His strong work ethic and expertise made him a valued member of his team. Beyond his professional achievements, he was known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need.
Above all else, Kevin was a loving husband and devoted father. He embraced "girl dad life" wholeheartedly, cherishing every moment with his wife of 18 years, Nicole, and their daughters, Helen (8) and Hazel (6). His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for them. Whether cooking on the grill, family vacations or tackling home remodeling projects, Kevin found joy in making memories with those he loved.
Kevin was also a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, always cheering on his teams with enthusiasm. His faith was an important part of his life; having accepted the Lord as his Savior in his youth, he carried that belief with him throughout his journey.
He is survived by his wife Nicole; daughters Helen and Hazel; mother Georgia Dee Blastic; stepfather Richard Blastic; brother Paul (Antoinette) Dodson; in-laws Steve and Anna Eden Yakim; John and Anna Moran Eden; and special aunt Tina Cauble. He was preceded in death by his father, James Dodson.
