Lance Brown Obituary

Lance Brown, age 73 of Saint John, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 25th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his loving children: Ashley (Jeffery) Smith and Taylor (Susana Bell) Brown and sisters Laurie Bernal and Shelley Boyle.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Elizabeth (Szilagy) Brown and sister Sharon Sterling.

Lance was born on February 18th, 1952, in Hammond Indiana. He is a 1970 graduate of Morton Senior High. After high school, Lance would spend a few years driving a truck for local Steel Mills. He would go on and drive for UPS for over 35 years where he would eventually retire as a member of the Local 710 Teamsters Union.

He loved spending time with his family as much as possible, often taking beautiful vacations, showing Ashley and Taylor a wonderful time in Florida, California, and many other places, where they made memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. When Lance was not laughing and enjoying the company of his children, he would spend time with the many friends he had. He took motorcycle trips across the county with many of his friends, often stopping at landmarks and taking photos. He valued every relationship he made over the course of his career, never forgetting to check in with a hello or a how ya doing.  He enjoyed fishing and loved the outdoors. Many father and son fishing trips through the years will always be remembered.

Lance enjoyed attending all kinds of trade shows, whether it would be home, garden, boat and fishing or any number of interests he had. He also enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs football team throughout the years. He would also make homemade pizzas that he would proudly show off for the games. He knew Ashley would be doing the same thing.

Lance was a loving son, friend, neighbor and most importantly, he was and will always be remembered for being a loving father.  He will be greatly missed by many, many people. God rest his soul. Psalm 23.
