Larry Niles Stassin, age 81 of Highland Indiana passed away on March 1st, 2026 at Loyola University, Mayfield Illinois. Larry was married to his wife Ann Stassin (Kozel) for 35 years. A graduate of Calumet Highschool .He worked and retired as a service manager for over 20 years from Ryko Manufacturing. Worked at US Steel South works in management for 19 years. In his younger years he had bought and ran the Queen of Hearts Deli in Calumet City and served the beauty school and elementary school students for the year of his ownership. Larry loved to go on cruises and travel. Larry also had a love for poker.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Priscillia (Watteau) and Arnold Stassin. His brother Arnold Stassin and wife Donna Stassin their daughter Carrol Ann Profilovich. His sister Shirley Jones of Floridia.
He is brother to Robert (Barbra) Stassin of Hammond. He is father to Larry (Susan) Stassin, Michelle Waugaman (Fiancé Jason), Shannon (Shawn) Humphries, Dan (Lauren) Bruce.
Grandfather to Nick, Ben, Sam Stassin, Gabbi Waugaman (Deceased),
Lexi Waugaman (Deceased), Maya and Andrew Humphries, Paige and Olivia Bruce.
Great-Grandfather to Mileau.
He will be remembered as one that could fix any issue or problem that came his way. He shared his years of wisdom with his family and always put them first. A man of strong values he was and always will be remembered for what he gave to this world.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322. Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm.
