Lawrence J. Blonski

Lawrence J. Blonski, 73, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Larry, as he was affectionately known, was a man who truly embodied the spirit of generosity and compassion.

Larry was a devoted father to his children, Larry (Nicole) Blonski, Lynda Blonski Simko, and Ashley (Zach) Blonski Bohling. He was lovingly known as “Goofy Papa,” “Grandpa,” and “Papa” by his cherished grandchildren: Farrah Blaschke, Alaina Blonski, Jaxen Bohling, and Sloane Bohling. His great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alyssa Blaschke, brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Neary. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Blonski, and his brother, Rick Blonski.

Larry was born March 16, 1951, in Hammond, IN, and was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School. He dedicated over 40 years of service to Inland Steel. Larry enjoyed playing golf and poker, but above all, spending every moment he could with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love and dedication he poured into his family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN, 46322.
