Lonnie Dean Henry, 66, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on August 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on April 21, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, Lonnie lived a full and vibrant life. He was a devoted husband to Mary C. Henry, a proud father to Amanda and Gracie Henry and Charles Patton, and a deeply loving grandpa to Faith Henry, Mary Dominiak, and Charles Dominiak. He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever cherish his memory.
Lonnie’s proudest accomplishments were not measured in titles or possessions, but in the love he gave his family. He was happiest being “Dad” and “Grandpa.” Whether he was reading, talking politics, watching the news, casting a fishing line, or spending time with his kids and grandkids, Lonnie embraced life with humor, passion, and care.
He was a fun-loving, helpful soul with a gift for making people laugh — and maybe argue a little, too. Lonnie was the kind of man who could light up a dance floor at a party or roll up his sleeves to fix whatever was broken. A man of many talents, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories.
Lonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the family and friends who carry his love forward.
