Lori Betthauser passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at age 62.
Lori was born on July 10, 1963 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Judith Voss and Richard Betthauser. She graduated from LaCrosse Central High School in 1981. She then graduated from UW LaCrosse in 1986 with a BS in Psychology, a minor in Sociology, and a concentration in Business Administration.
In 1987, Lori moved to Chicago, Illinois and started a career in marketing at North American Company in Chicago, now Sammons Financial Group. She enjoyed the various roles she learned while working for North American/Sammons including Senior Administrative Assistant, Marketing Technology Specialist, e-Marketing Specialist, and Senior Digital Marketing Specialist, which is the role she retired in 2022 after her 35-year long career.
Lori was most proud of her children, Patrick Guider, Kiany Guider and Nicole M. Eckles and enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible. She especially loved family vacations with her siblings and their families to Myrtle Beach, Wisconsin Dells, Atlanta, New York, and Nashville. Lori loved her beloved Maltese fur baby Sadie who was with her for 11 years and her grand fur babies Koda (Guider) and Theodore (Eckles-McArthur).
Lori loved flower gardening and couldn’t wait to begin planting and decorating her deck as soon as Midwest weather permitted. She never failed to attract beautiful birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals, with her bird feeders. She also loved taking the family into Chicago for dinner and a play which was an annual tradition. Lori loved family game nights and planning fun themed games to play on Christmas Day.
Lori is preceded in death by her parents, Judith Larson, Ken Larson and Richard Betthauser.
Lori is survived by her children Patrick Guider (Kiany), and Nicole M. Eckles as well as her sister Diane K. Schiferl (Rob), and her brothers Timothy J. Betthauser and Daniel J. Larson (Sarah), as well as her beloved nieces and nephews Jenna and Adam Schiferl, and Isaac and Olivia Larson, and Julius Eckles, her longtime close friend and companion.
