She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry (Buddy) M. Baran; her parents, John and Caroline Lucente; her beloved brothers and sisters-in law, Emmanuel and Cora, and Bobby and Jean; and her best friend since high school, Mary Lange.
Louise was born January 8, 1931, at Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago, but lived in Lansing, Illinois since she was 13. She was a person of gentleness, kindness, and patience and her life was filled with love, family, and joy. Even though her final illness robbed her of so much of what made her, HER, she bore it all with strength and grace.
She had a fulfilling career in retail, working for Edward Minas stores both in Hammond and River Oaks, and eventually, managing the Evans Store in River Oaks. She also enjoyed roller skating, water skiing, and most of all, bowling, being on two leagues well into her 90s. She also was crazy about Elvis Presley, especially since they shared a birthday!! Her Elvis blanket was with her during these last few months and on her last day, we played all her favorite songs.
But what she truly cherished was being a mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, to all of us. She will be missed but remembered with so much love.
Visitation will be at All Souls Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Road, Lansing IL on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 9:00 am to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am celebrated by Rev. Michael Gabriel. Interment will be private at a later date at Assumption Cemetery.
