Mae Catherine Bond Craig was born in Brownsville, TN on October 16,1940, to Albert and Elizabeth Bond Sr. who preceded her in death. Mae accepted Christ as her savior at an early age after moving to Chicago, IL in 1960.
Mae was united in a love-filled marriage to David Craig Sr. for 50 years and was blessed with 5 children. Mae worked at Chan’s Chinese Restaurant for 10 years as a hardworking and dedicated waitress. In 1971 she started a new career working at the Nabisco Corporation where she worked for 32 years until her retirement.
Granny Mae had a very deep love for her immediate and extended family. She was an amazing cook who opened her kitchen up to everyone who stopped by just like the movie, ‘Soul Food.’ She made sure that nobody left her home hungry.
Mae was called home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband David Craig Sr., sisters Doris Salazar and Peggy Stevenson, and brothers Albert Bond Jr., Sam Bond, and Joe Bond.
