Margaret "Marge" (Moore) Rylander

Margaret "Marge" Rylander (nee Moore), age 88, of Highland, Indiana, passed away September 24, 2021, following a brief battle with pneumonia. Marge was born January 27, 1933 to Wilbur and Mary (Lisby) Moore in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Marge is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, George; four daughters, Emily (Walter) Novak, Alice Borg, Mary Gundry, and Peggy Rylander, and her adored baby sister, Jessie (Kenneth) Mahala. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Walter (Kathleen) Novak, Lisa (Tyler) Vaughan, Allan Gundry Jr., Lindsey (James) Hite, Alicia (Robert) Schwartz, Jennifer (Kat) Borg, Jonathan (Roger) Borg, and Nathaniel Rylander. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Maddison, Jocelyn, Grayden, James, Katherine, Caroline, Camryn, Edwin, Abigail, Judith, and Robert, also many nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred (Thomas) Latimer, grandson Paul Novak, and son-in-law Robert Borg.

Marge was known by all as a loving caregiver. She was "mama Marge" to the many children she welcomed into her home as child care provider and as a foster grandmother to seventeen newborns. She served as a longtime custodian at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, a job she greatly enjoyed for many years.

Marge will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A private memorial service will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2022 for all to attend and celebrate Margaret's life.
