Marge Press Obituary

Marge Press, 72, passed away on Thursday afternoon of August 7, 2025.

She is survived by her wonderful, loving husband H Sam Press; siblings Charlie, Jimmy, and Robert; children Krysten Koukol, Samantha J. Press, Alexis Waltkins-Barnes; grandchildren, Alana Koukol, 22, Madaline, 11; Brittney, Shelby, Maycie, Trent, and Jordyn; great-grandchildren Avery; along with other nieces, nephews, dear friends, and their canine companion Cinnamon Girl.

Preceded in death by parents, Thomas Somers and Kathleen Van, and elder son Ronnie Potee; along with feline friends Fritz and their tuxedo cat Bubbie.

Marge was born on March 9, 1953 in Gary, Indiana and went to Hobart High School. After graduating with her General Education Diploma, Marge went into the work force. She had served many countless years in transportation. Marge worked at Regional Mental Health for over 20 years, alone.

When it came to taking care of patients, she was excited to visit and assist them; she was incredibly proud to be part of their lives and aid in their goals.

In 2013, Marge and Sam met one day in late April. After several months of courtship and quality time together, they later that year had a simple courthouse wedding & a cozy reception close to home inviting friends and family on November 1, 2013. Throughout Marge and Sam's 12 years of marriage, they went on trips to see lighthouses in Evanston, Illinois, Michigan City, Indiana and Benton Harbor, Michigan.

At home, Marge enjoyed Beat Bobbi Flay and Diners. Drive Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. When the Food Network did not hit the spot, she would Bear down or cheer on her White Sox. She enjoyed cruising while listening to the Moody Blues and spending time with her friends and family. Marge was a very loving, nurturing woman. When she met you, Marge accepted, and you were seen as family. Marge will be deeply missed by and treasured from all the lives she touched.

Marge will be cremated at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN, 46322 and the celebration of life will be further determined.
