Maria "Lupita" Guadalupe Moreno

Maria "Lupita" Guadalupe Moreno peacefully passed away, in her home on November 4th, 2021 with her loving husband at her side. She was 75 years old and a lifelong resident of Hammond, Indiana. Maria was survived by her loving and supportive husband Jesus A. Moreno, her six children, Jesse (Sylvia) Moreno, Adrian Moreno, Angela (John) Hazel, Sebastian Moreno, Erik(Laura) Moreno , and Natalia(Rick)Gil, and her beloved 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 siblings. 
Maria was a devoted, committed, supportive,  loving wife, mother and grandmother. Maria was always there for her six children. She was known for her kindness and hospitality to family and friends.
Maria was born in San Luis, Potosi, MX on April 27,1946 to Eduardo and Estella Perez , who proceed her in heaven.On July 25, 1965 she married her first love, Jesus A. Moreno. Shortly after starting a family in Mexico they moved to Indiana and continued growing their family, a dream for Maria to have many kids, and a big family, who were all the most important part of her life. She became a proud, naturalized citizen of the United States in 2003. 
In her career, she was a teachers aid and a Spanish teacher in the Gary Community School system, where she taught with passion. She enjoyed arts and crafts, music, baking, making beaded bonsai trees, cooking, and knitting.  She always enjoyed hosting family gatherings and making big family dinners. Her most important role was caring for her grandchildren and always being there for all of her children their entire lives. She will be forever missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial will be honored in her name Tuesday November 16th at 10:00 a.m. prior to the mass service at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 7132 Arizona ave. Hammond,IN. 46323.
