Marie Lewis

Marie Lewis age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 11, 2025.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Don) Austgen and Donna Skorupa; her grandchildren, Steve (Dianna) Austgen and Jennifer (Eric) Szczudlak; great-grandchildren, Angelica Camacho, Steven Austgen Jr, Colin Szczudlak and Laney Szczudlak; her great-great-grandchild, Winston Gonzalez; her brother Harry (Carol) Cash; sister-in-law Jean Cash and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin (Rooster) Lewis; her parents, Carl and Katie Cash; her brothers Wayne Cash, John (Barbara) Cash, Chet Cash and Bill (Jo) Cash; and her sisters Mary (Junior) Harris and Peggy (Ted) Carter.

Marie was born on April 20, 1939 in Atwood, TN. On February 11, 1956 in Crown Point, IN, she married the love of her life Rooster Lewis and together they raised two daughters. Marie and Rooster were married for 43 years before his passing. Marie worked at Walgreens for over 25 years. She loved yellow roses, going to church, watching Wheel of Fortune, spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd. Highland, IN, 46322.
