Marshall "Marty" Sheppard Obituary

Marshall "Marty" Sheppard, age 66, of Hebron, IN, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana;  sons,  Shannon (Jeeyoung) and Matthew (Jessica); daughter Kimberly  (Zeb); sisters,  Dama (Ollie)  and Virginia (Kirk);  sister-in-law Cheryl  (Jim);  5 wonderful grandchildren, Gracie, Peyton, Clay, Jayce, and Cole;  and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents William "Roy" and Donna; siblings Betty, Phyllis, Don, Brenda, and Russ; and 2 special grandchildren Jake and Aubrey.

Marty was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked several years at Union Tank in East Chicago and Rohm & Haas, where he eventually retired. He was a proud member of Crown Point Free Holiness Church of God for 25 years and held various positions in support of his beloved church. He loved playing his acoustic guitar and played for various gospel groups. His zest for life and commitment to family endeared him to all. The words "meek", "humble", "peaceable", and "kind" were most often associated with him.

Private Family Services (with limit of 10 people) will be held at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN, 46322 on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, with the funeral service following immediately at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Pastor Frank Duvall and Brother Kevin Duvall officiating.  Interment will be at Chapel Lawn in Crown Point, Indiana.
