Mary Catherine Dec

In loving memory of our mother and grandmother Mary Catherine Dec, age 90 of Highland, Indiana. She departed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday June 17, 2025. She is survived by her daughters Laura and Sheila, and grandchildren Jessica and Daniel. Preceded in death by her husband Deacon Raymond Dec and her parents Andrew & Catherine Luscavich & brothers Andrew and John.

A Devout Catholic, Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, teacher, friend, and confidant. She dedicated her life to helping her family and friends. Her grandkids Daniel and Jessica were the joy of her life.

She loved dancing the Polka, playing her accordion, singing, sewing, and cooking. Known best for her legendary cooking, “Mama Mary’s Polish & Russian Cuisine”. She was our hero, our angel, and our guiding light. With her endless smile and laughter, she lit up every room with love and warmth.

We will never forget your endless love and we are so grateful to have had you in our lives. You are irreplaceable and will forever be dearly missed “Mams”.

A private service will be held for the immediate family with a memorial service to follow at a later date.
