Mary D. (Krayniak) Jaworski

Mary D. Jaworski (Krayniak) passed away on Monday August 25, 2025. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Chester, and mother Jennie Krayniak. Mary is survived by her four daughters, Rose (Guy) Sutton, Jeanette Lewandowski, Linda Burchuk and Kathy Jaworski; grandchildren, Michael (Dawn Shively) Lewandowski, Angie (Allen Castor) Lewandowski, George (Chastity) Burchuk, Jonathon (Jaime) Burchuk and Gregory (Angela) Burchuk; nine great-grandchildren; cousin Roseann Vaughan, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was born on July 5, 1932 in Gary, Indiana and was a graduate of Froebel High School. On June 6, 1953 she married Chester. Life long residents of Gary, they lovingly raised their family. She is a member of American Legion Post 207 Woman's Auxiliary and a member of St. Joseph Rosary Sodality. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and good friends over good food. She will be missed by her family and by all those she touched.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Edward Shea officiating at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 330 E. 45th Ave. Gary, IN.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 3-7pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until time of Mass at the church.

Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
