Matthew James Brown Sr. age 30, of Merrillville, In. Passed away Sunday, Aug. 9th, 2020. He is survived by his Mother, Monica (David) Hartlerode; Fiancé, Kallie Turner; Son Matthew James Jr.; Daughter, Brooklyn; Brother, David Brown Jr.; Sister, Sarah (John) Kopf; Sister, Toni McDaniel; Sister, Laura Brown; Brother, Kevin (Carrissa) Hahney; Sister, Kayla Hahney; Sister, Kierstyn Hartlerode; Brother, Kyle Hartlerode; Grandmother, Trinidad Porras; As well as many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. Preceding him in death was his Father, David A. Brown Sr., Grand Parents, Edward and Leota Brown, Grandfather, Fernando Porras Sr.

Matthew was a lifelong resident of Lake County, IN. Matthew had a heart of gold and would do anything for his friends and family, He was a loving son, Father, Fiancé, Brother and Uncle and a loyal friend. Matthew was a Jack of all trades; He joined the Local 395 Iron workers in 2015. He had many different interests and hobbies, He liked Guns, Motorcycles, Trucks and making people laugh. He touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. 46322 on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Matthew will then be Cremated and put to rest at Calumet park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the family for Matthew Jr. and Brooklyn’s education fund.
