With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Matthew James Knight, age 28 of Valparaiso, IN on July 5, 2025.
Matthew is survived by his loving partner, Elise Anguiano, his children Ryder and Love, step-daughter Amora, parents Daniel and Michelle Knight, brother John (Deztinee) Knight, sisters Nicole (Andrew) Work, and Monika Knight, nieces Teagan, Lilah, Piper, and Ella, and nephew Aiden who adored him, along with countless friends who were more like chosen family.
Matthew brought light and laughter wherever he went. His life was filled with creativity, passion, fun, and a boundless love for his family. A talented artist from the time he could hold a pencil, he poured his heart into every design and treated each piece with such care. A sought-after artist at Bugaboo Tattoo, his artwork lives on as a legacy not only on canvases and skin, but in the lives he touched.
When he wasn’t creating, he was building - always knee-deep in DIY projects, fixing things, riding dirt bikes and ATVs, making something new, or finding ways to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Those who knew him will remember he lived his life wide open with his mischievous grin, quick wit, generosity, tight hugs, wisdom, wild and free spirit, and deep love.
Though his time with us was short, the impact he made was beyond measure. We will carry his memory in every laugh, every story, every thrill, and every spark of inspiration- and we’ll keep creating, riding, and building in his honor.
A Celebration of Matthew’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) in Highland, IN at 12:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mike Dwyer officiating to remember and honor his remarkable soul.
Rest easy, Matthew. You were loved beyond measure and will be missed beyond words. Until we meet again…
