Nancy Hedges, age 85, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
She is survived by her children, Lanette (Brian) Adams, Denise (Bob) Tribble, Bob Hedges, and Julie (Mark) Anderson; grandchildren, Cole (Kayli) Tribble, Zachary (Sarah) Adams, Allie Tribble, Sammi (Angel) Nunez, Jack Anderson, Rachel (Jacob) Rennie, Maddie Anderson, Cooper Hedges, and Sophie Hedges; great grandchildren, Olivia, Saylor, Layla, and Nolan; sister, Marilyn (Ed) Martin; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Nancy was born on May 15, 1940 in Gary, Indiana and graduated from Griffith High School in 1958. She was raised in Griffith surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She stayed in Griffith, marrying her high school sweetheart, Bob Hedges, and raising their four children.
Even as a youngster, Nancy was always full of life - taking dance lessons, and hanging out with her close girlfriends. After getting married and having kids, her family became her priority. She took pride in keeping a home and raising her kids. She was known around the Hedges house and neighborhood for her baked goods, especially her white cake with white frosting, or anything chocolate. Not only was she a caring mother, but she thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her grandkids.
The sky was the limit at Nani and Papa’s house. They attended every sporting event, birthday party, and were there anytime they were needed.
Nani loved a party or an excuse for a get together. She and Papa enjoyed square dancing with friends. Oftentimes she made her own outfit to coordinate with her best partner. She loved hosting holidays or sleepovers with all of grandkids.
Nancy’s kindness and loving ways knew no bounds. Whether it was an old friend or stranger, they always got a hug and kiss. Her beautiful smile could brighten anyone’s day.
The family has decided to hold a private service for Nancy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donating to one of the hospice organizations that took such great care of Bob and Nancy, and their family.
