It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Nicholas 'Nick' John Resunenko on January 27, 2026 at the age of 67. Loving husband of Norma and loving and proud father of John and Matthew Resunenko. After retiring, he spent as much time as he could fishing, watching his Cubbies play, win or lose, and conversing with friends and family about herbs and health. He was filled with joy to finally be able to see the Cubs win a World Series in 2016, during his lifetime. Nick had many other memories he loved to share about his friends and family and we hope they cherished and loved those moments as much as he did with them.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alla Resunenko and sister, Annie Resunenko.
He is survived by his immediate family Norma, John, and Matthew; sisters, Natalie and Kathy Resunenko; his brother, Alex Resunenko (Rhonda); aunt, Norma; and cousins Tina Butzky and Kim Rubino (Joe).
We would like to invite any who may have known him to see him one last time as we celebrate his life at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Rd Highland, IN 46322 on February 7, 2026. Visitation starts at 10am and the service will begin at 11am with Rev. Jacob Van Sickle officiating.
Internment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, Indiana.
Nick will be forever loved and deeply missed.
