Nicole Christine Rogers, 37, of Munster, Indiana, died on Saturday, November 4, 2023 after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease. She is survived by her mother, Cindy (nee Bernsley) Rogers, her nephew Aiden Hetler-Rogers and many additional loving family members and friends. She was accompanied in death by her brother Paul A. Rogers, who died on the same day, after his own long struggle with Huntington’s Disease. Also preceded in death by her father, Paul Rogers, and Phillip Rogers, her uncle.
She graduated from Munster High School in 2004, and worked for 9 years at Kids First Academy in Highland, IN. She was devoted to the children in her care and was proud of the work she was able to do. She was honest, caring and able to be unapologetically herself. She enjoyed long drives, eighties music, hot and delicious drinks from Starbucks, and could quote most Tom Cruise movies by heart. She was an avid collector of beanie babies and American girl dolls and loved shopping on Amazon. Nicole was a member of Southside Christian Church in Munster, IN. One of her favorite songs, Butterfly, by Seven Day Jesus quotes “I wanna be a butterfly, flying in the sky with you today. I want to lose this old cocoon, I want to do it soon and fly away, you take what’s old and make it new. So I can be with You and fly away.” She is now a butterfly, flying onward with God on her next journey.
There are no services planned for Miss Rogers. Memorial donations in Nicole's honor made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America are appreciated. Donate by clicking on this link.
