Norma M. Morweiser

Norma M. Morweiser, age 89 residing in Rochester, IN, (formally of Schererville, IN) peacefully passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Lifecare Center of Rochester. She was born April 4, 1936 in Brainerd, MN, to Michael and Marie Catchur.

On November 16,1974 in Hammond, IN she married the love of her life, Edmund Morweiser, who preceded her in death on July 28, 2025. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Orest and Ernest Catchur, two sisters: Zita Lewann and Magdalen “Maggie” Forsythe, nephews: David Forsythe, Ronald Bryerton and great-grandson Silas E. Gast.

Mrs. Morweiser was a retired Secretary/Bookkeeper. She graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in Whiting, Indiana.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Bootie Beattie and husband Bill Beattie, Rochester, IN; Debera Wahl, Coal City, IL; Sharon Barnett, Lowell, IN; son Allen Moses (Patti), Ontario, CA. Grandchildren, Karl A. Gast (Jessi) of Bloomington, IN; Mary K. Gast-Pyle (Chris) of Chicago, IL, Emily Alerich (Chris) CA, Katie Woznicki (Nathan) CA; Heidi Barnett. Great-grandchildren: Ezra A. Gast & Ari E. Gast; Chas Alerich & Payton Alerich, Paige Woznicki; Sister Evelen (George) Bryerton, Elkhart, IN and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life held for family and friends Saturday, January, 31, 2026 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322 from 12:00 – 02:00 CST.

Interment will take place at Marion National Cemetery at a future date.
