Patricia "Pat" (Keller) Kokot

Patricia "Pat" (nee Keller) Kokot, age 80, of Highland, IN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Friday, September 8, 2023. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Michael "Red" Kokot; loving mother of Nicholas (Jeanine) Kokot of Colorado Springs, CO, and JaNeen (Eric) Good of Dyer, IN; dearest grandmother of Emma (Max) Rodgers, Claire Kokot, Matthew Kokot, Jack Good and Caroline Good; dear sister-in-law, MaryAnn Rodeheaver, along with loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Madeline Keller; sister, Mary Keller Gard; parents-in-law, Nicholas and Emma Kokot and brother-in-law, Ronald (late Donna) Kokot.

Patricia was a professional cosmetologist for many years as well as a floral designer. She enjoyed making others look and feel their best. Her beauty chair was always filled with good conversation and many laughs. Patricia loved to talk, either in person or over the phone. Her loving conversations and advice will be missed. 

Patricia had many talents as an excellent cook and gardener. Her delicious meals and beautiful backyard will always be remembered. She really enjoyed vacationing each year to Michigan, Florida, and California to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Patricia had a great sense of humor and a smile that could light up the room and immediately make you feel at ease. She had a way of welcoming her family and friends into her life and home, and making them feel special. Nothing brought her more joy than being a grandmother to her five special "kids"

Pat was a strong and vibrant woman who helped shape so many lives. She will be dearly missed by the many that she touched. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN, with 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial offered by Revered Charles Niblick. Interment will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, with the mass at 1:30 pm.

A special thank you to Patricia's caring doctors, James Walsh MD and Wassim Shwaiki, MD, as well as the extraordinary palliative and hospice team of nurses from VNA Hospice of NWI, especially Leslie and Shannon. The truly compassionate and loving care they provided will never be forgotten. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated to further research all those with lung disease.
