Patrick John Scardina, 88 of Hammond, passed away Saturday June 14, 2025, with his family by his side.
He was born March 17, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, son of the late (Salvatore Scordomaglia) Sam and Rose Mary Gigliotti Scardina.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Scardina; his son Robert (Dianna) Scardina; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Styer, Dustin Scardina, Joshua Scardina, Jessica Scardina and Marina Scardina; step-grandchildren, Nate McRoberts, Sam (Jessica) McRoberts, Josh (Lydia) McRoberts, Joey McRoberts and Jake McRoberts; great-grandchildren, Charley Scardina, Nora Styer and Lila Styer; step-great grandchildren, Olive, Chara and Victoria. One sister, Stella McCord and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Traci Scardina; three brothers Serafine, Tony and Joe; two sisters, Isabella Karnis and Mary Rose Moore.
Patrick was a veteran of the United States Airforce and a proud Amercian. He moved from West Virginia to Indiana in 1965 at which time he began working for Wonder Bread, working his way to management before retiring in 1995. He had a great passion for Bowling and bowled actively up until just short of his 88th birthday. He also spent over fifty years bowling in leagues with his wife Margaret, close friend and brother-in-law Larry Frame, and his wife Pam. The four of them often could be found on any holiday playing cards together until late in the evening. When relaxing he enjoyed watching West Virginia football and any old western he could find on TV.
Patrick was known for his kindness, generosity, and smile toward all, and was loved by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 22, 2025, from 2pm to 6pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, Indiana.
