Paul Fordyce, of Highland, Indiana, passed away on July 1, 2025 after a long battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He passed peacefully, knowing he was deeply loved by his family and having given his life over to Christ.
Paul was born on September 7, 1962 at Saint Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond, Indiana, to his parents, John and Virginia Fordyce. He grew up in Munster and graduated from Munster High School in 1981. Paul had a lifelong love of sports especially baseball and basketball—and enjoyed spending time with friends and his older brother, John.
Later in life, Paul met the woman who would become his wife, Pamela, while working at Zayre. He proposed in 1988, and they were married on September 2, 1989. Together they had two children: Timothy Paul Fordyce, born in 1992, and Tiffany Ashley Nichole Fordyce, born in 1994.
Paul was an enthusiastic fan of Chicago sports—whether it was the Bulls, the Blackhawks, or the Bears—but the Chicago Cubs were his favorite team. He also had a love for movies, especially James Bond films. More than anything, Paul will be remembered for his kind heart. For many years, he led a ministry feeding the homeless through his church and volunteered extensively with youth ministries where he excelled at working with children. He had a gift for connecting with people, always offering calm, warmth, and a welcoming presence.
Paul will be deeply missed as a devoted husband, loving father, and true friend to many.
In celebration of his life, a lunch and visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 3:00–7:00pm at South Side Christian Church 1000 Broadmoor Avenue Munster, IN, followed by a service from 7:00–8:00pm.
He will be laid to rest the following day on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10:30am at DeMotte Cemetery in DeMotte, IN.
All who knew Paul are welcome to attend. Written memories, stories, or reflections are warmly encouraged and appreciated for sharing with the family.
