Paul Hernandez Sr.

Paul Hernandez Sr. age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

He is survived by his loving children, Elaine Hernandez , Paul Hernandez (Candice), Tommy Hernandez (Sara), David Hernandez( Mary), Karla Akeman, Aubri Klintworth(Zack), Shayla Karlowsky; Father Theodore Koch; Sister Patty Sibley (Jim), Delia Hernandez; grandkids Caleb, Sebastian, Gabriel, Mariah, Elysia, Isabella, Logan, Lucas, Jasmine, Jacob, Davey, Duke, Paul, Abigail, Christian, Ellie, Cole, Bentley, & Bailey; Dear friends: Patricia Hernandez, Mechelle Manns, & Micaelene Tulba; numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine pals Creed, Adrienne, & Rocky.

Preceded in death by mother Delores Koch, son Peter Hernandez, brother Ronald Hernandez & Kenneth Hernandez.

Paul was born January 14, 1954 in Chicago, Il and was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, he went on to proudly serve our country as a US Marine. Paul retired from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, serving as the first Hispanic President. 

He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and volunteering at Begin Again Animal Rescue. 

Paul was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, Indiana 46322. Funeral will follow at 6:00 pm.
